Home School Association 2011-2012

tricky Tray - Friday, March 2 The Queen of Peace High School Home School Association will be holding its Annual Tricky Tray Event on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Queen of Peace High School “Sonny Connors” Gymnasium. Our theme this year is “New York, New York”. With our high quality prizes and guaranteed good time, this annual event is the Home School Association’s biggest fundraiser of the year. We urge you to participate.

In homeroom your child has received a Tricky Tray Admission Ticket Order Form to be brought home. As in the past, tickets are limited and sell out very quickly. We encourage you to order them as soon as possible. All seating is reserved and tables will be assigned in the order the ticket requests are received. Please note: Absolutely no one under 18 years of age will be admitted. No refunds will be given. No tickets will be sold at the door. All seating is reserved. No alcohol is permitted.

In the past, the success of our Annual Tricky Tray Event has been largely due to the generous donations of high quality gifts and monetary support from our Queen of Peace families, friends, alumni, and through community and corporate solicitation. We are requesting that each family contribute either a new gift item to be used in our prize gift baskets or a monetary donation. Monetary donations of $50.00 or more will be credited 100% toward your family obligation. Please complete the Tricky Tray Donation Return Form and send it in along with either your gift or check. In addition, if you know of a company or business willing to support our event through a gift donation please contact us to receive a solicitation letter.

Our Raffle Ticket Sale is another important aspect of the Tricky Tray Event. You child received three ticket books. Please complete the Tricky Tray Raffle Ticket Return Form and send it in along with your check and ticket stubs. For additional raffle ticket books please call Cheryl Riley, Special Events Coordinator, at 201-998-8227 x 39. The total dollar amount for tickets purchased prior to February 17, 2012, will be credited toward your fundraising obligation. Raffle tickets purchased the night of the Tricky Tray will not be credited toward your fundraising obligation.

Also, please remember if you volunteer for four hours either setting up the day of the Tricky Tray or at the event itself, you will receive a $50 credit toward your fundraising obligation.

All admission ticket requests and donations should be sent to the Main Office to the attention of Margaret Giordano no later than February 17, 2012. Checks should be made payable to QPHS. Please feel free to contact Cheryl Riley at 201-998-8227 x 39 if you have any questions.

Proceeds from the Annual Tricky Tray Event are donated directly to Queen of Peace High School to benefit our children. We encourage all Queen of Peace families to join us at “New York, New York” for an evening full of valuable prizes, good company and great fun!

Thank you to all our families for your continued support.

PARENT VOLUNTEER REQUEST
HSA Volunteer Request

The QPHS Home School Association (HSA) hosts a variety of activities and fundraising events throughout the school year. The success of these activities depends on our parent volunteers. We ask that you please consider assisting with at least one activity. We would appreciate responses by Friday, September 16, 2011. Responses will be accepted all year online and sign-up sheets will be available at our monthly HSA meetings – hope to see you there – always looking for new parents and new ideas!.

  1. Hospitality Committee - Throughout the school year the Home School Association is asked to “host” several early evening or weekend events by serving light refreshments to guests. These usually include events that welcome our Queen of Peace High School parents and families to visit the school for various functions.
  2. Graduation Ushers - Volunteers are needed the day of graduation to usher parents and guests to their seats.

  3. Annual Tricky Tray Event - The biggest and best fundraising event of the school year, the Tricky Tray requires many, many volunteers. Committees begin forming in September at the first Home School Meeting and work continues until the night of the big event in March. We welcome any and all help for this event. No matter how many or how few hours you can give, all help is welcome. Please check the QPHS website and mailings for upcoming details.
