Queen of Peace High School

Peer Ministry is a program consisting of current students that are dedicated to welcoming and helping new students adjust to a new school.

The coordinators pair incoming students with a trusted and well qualified student at our school, a Peer Minister.

Through this program, new students learn about the school while gaining a new friend. A Peer Minister will be a sophomore, junior, or senior, so they'll know enough about the school to give incoming students an inside look at what really happens on a day to day basis. They keep new students updated on all upcoming events.

There are many opportunities at QP. There are many clubs and teams, ranging from sports to theater and chess to Peer Ministry.

Peer Ministers help new students adjust to new surroundings during their first year in high school. The first contacts are made through letters, e-mails, and phone calls. Peer Ministers send out letters at the beginning of the summer and new students can reply with any questions or inquiries they may have from "How do I open my locker?" to "Is there really a pool on the roof?". They do their best to try to reach everyone and they encourage new students to respond. New students meet their Peer Minister on the first day of school.
